Ross Hamman
44th Ave
Originally from the mountains of Colorado, Ross has been a Queens-based New Yorker for 18 years. A 20+ year veteran of the bar and restaurant industry, they decided to take the things they love most about working in a bar—people, community, craft, and working with their hands—and bring that to the barbering industry. Ross attended barber school in Manhattan and got their master barber’s license before joining Otis & Finn for an apprenticeship. During their six-month apprenticeship, they quickly picked up the skills and techniques required for any good haircut: attention to detail and great communication with their client. Ross’ favorite part of barbering is connecting with their clients and making them feel cared for and comfortable. They especially love modern, funky cuts, texture, and classic styles. Outside of the shop, Ross is a sculptor, painter, knitter, and avid reader.
